any comments...do they work? do they cast?? saw them at massbass last year and not since, except at one store...wonder if anyone has experience with them.

The GS Slammer casts like a brick, and in order to get it to swim you really gotta rip it hard to get it started! Better for trolling, a little too big and clumsy for use in the surf, but hey, if some of you guys like em' in the suds.....more power to ya! Ya asked for opinion, and you got mine!!!!:smash: Once it swims though it moves like a dream!

i like it for lettin it drift out then crank it back in, casts like poopoo but thats alright. i got 1 fish on it when bigger macks were around boston. i got it the end of august so the real test will be spring, herring, then i can give my real tested opinion of it.

WHAT IF!!!!!!!! they made a smaller version like peanut bunker size? that would be killer.:uhuh:

I second to that, man! All of them cast like a twig or brick except for the bluefish bomb, they perform better than the swimmers. I reckon that slammers are suited for trolling, however, three months ago, I went to the Canal B&T on Sandwich which is across from the sagamore bridge, I saw a 9er or a umbrella line of similar slammer models in each order on the wire without hooks.

Ron Hidalgo gave me an advice on how to use the yellow slammer on the canal, but I can't make a comment on that because I am a baby surfcaster and you might as well as figuring out that my technique on it could be error. All you have to do is to make two turns and twitch or pull. When it comes to twtiching, I have no feel on my rod from the slammer.

Christain, if u use the blue, white, and bright pink slammer, u can use it to imiate a herring. Good luck!

They BLOW.
Id much rather buy some gibbs or super strikes for the amount you pay for one of those stipid things. I know the guy who developed the design, It wasnt Al . He was making them for tuna, and then somehow were on the market for stripers. Like TOBY said theyre CRAP.:af:
