The eyes on open eyed Mustad stainless Siwash hooks have become very brittle. If I wanted a stainless hook I'd use a closed eye style and attach it via a split ring

I just go with a tinned VMC. 5/0 or 6/0 for most plugs.

vmc permasteel is bout the best out there short of their vanadium hooks which are like twice the price. Stainless is brittle, and tinned hooks will rust in saltwater..I have them on my site cheap. Size depends on size of plug.....
