Customizing Penn 4/0

Which of these parts would you suggest for a 4/0 Penn 113H to improve it for COD FISHING only:

Accuframe
Accuplate
Accurate 4/0 handle
Accurate narrow spool
Accurate 4:1 ratio high speed gears

The 4:1 ratio is not as good as the ratio that comes standard in the 113H for cod fishing right? Or is it better to have the faster ratio?

Thanks!:)

What's wrong with it the way it is. You're only Cod fishing. Save your money for better stuff.

dont kno....just heard that it helps with the braid getting caught between the spool and the frame.....which i hear happens alot and can be frustrating....not positive about it just seeing if its really neccesary for codfishing.

I don't think so. IMO, you should use the reel for a while yourself and see what you think. Don't need to customize a Cod reel just because ya read something about it or someone suggested that it would look "cool" customized.
If ya don't have enough important stuff to spend your money on, send a little my way.;) :D

lol ok that helped
btw im not looking to look "cool" i just dont want to mess with problems with the braid when im out there on the water....but if it doesnt really make a difference or the difference isnt worth the cash, (it is expensive) forget it
thanks:)

I have a 113 and have no problem with the line getting caught in the spool. Just make sure that you don't over fill the spool and that the berrin is adjusted right so there is no spool slap as I call it.
Tighten it so that there is no side to side movement and back off just a tad. you wnat no movement but you want it to spool lose, not to tight and you should have no problems.
I do the same for my big 114H also.

I got my 4/0 for COD with 80# Saltwater Fusion has the diameter of 25# mono and i've had no problem flipping rocks, busting rigs, and landing cod to 38lbs, even a tandom 20lbers... nailed a 51lb bass on the frances (didnt have the pool ticket), and landed small tuny.
