Bench coating
 
I just built a new workbench,what would be the best finish to coat it with?, any help would be great,Thanks

plywood,,,planks,,,,3/4 boards???? good old OIL poly has always worked the best for all types.

I'd go with white formica. its easy to put in, it cleans up easy and you can see what your doing over it because it reflects light.. plus, its hard to loose split-rings and other small stuff on it.

I use Benjamin Moore Floor enamel. The latex works but will sometimes peel up after a while. The oil dries really hard and really smooth 2 coats of that and you'll have a coating that is meant to withstand years of foot traffic and it works great.
