slip and BM

thank you guys for the mini seminar-what little information I was able to soak in has been put to use already. I just successfully drilled an off center hole on a danny and it worked great. I made a jig to clamp onto my press instead of using a lathe, but seeing it done makes it easier to do for myself.

Yeah.. the off center drilling was what always confused me too..
thanks guys!

fishingrod 01-03-2004 09:09 PM

I also appreciated all the information I picked up today at the mini seminar. But, I must have been at the food table when the off center drilling was covered, can someone fill me in?
Thanks
Rod

ThrowingTimber 01-03-2004 09:12 PM

Slipknot 01-03-2004 09:35 PM

Your welcome.
There is another way of doing it on the drill press.
#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& posted about it and I copied and pasted it here somewhere. Too tired right now to look or write it all out.

MAC 01-04-2004 12:30 PM

LOL, thanks Eben, the needle is beautiful. That popper you made is awesome too. Was difficult to chose between the 2... The Squid was just totally unbelievable, Clamma is a lucky dude.

Nebe 01-04-2004 01:36 PM

Theres a certian spotlight that blasts down into the water at one of the places I fish, and that chicken scratch pikie's gonna have some fun down there next fall

bassmaster 01-04-2004 01:49 PM

rizzo 01-04-2004 01:57 PM

Thanks bassmaster for showing us that pikie demo, you had everything down to a science and it really opened up my eyes to how in depth making plugs can get. I still can't get over how fast you turned that plug and how perfect it came out. You're like a machine :D

Slipknot 01-04-2004 02:24 PM

Eben I got like 8 of those eyes from Adam R I would realy like to seeeee some more of them, there neto. Its the little stuff that makes the difference in the art type pieces.

NIB 01-05-2004 09:31 PM

Oh an by the way U probably have more talent then everyone in that room put together them glass plugs an squid where out of this world I saw tthe box of plugs U made off with But I think U should 've held out for more.I did notice U got a Cape Sams plug.I here they are hard to get.Just ask his good buddy Slip.:laughs:

Nebe 01-05-2004 10:04 PM

NIB I got 4 capesams plugs:D
Aparently I have the largest colection of his besides himself.. I look at them and just ....he's good.
That squid was the 1st one I ever made.. but as far as being more talented than someone else... well I usually tell people its about patience.. anyone who has good patience can make what ever they want. I think talent comes into play when your coming upp with ideas, but its patience that gets you places.

when I get some free time I'll make more eyes.... they're time consuming little buggars.

capesams 01-05-2004 10:13 PM
