High hook

I've been thinking about a small and fun tournament for this coming season. I'm not sure about the rules, but the general jist is--high hook. Those of us who would want to join in would have to keep a log. Each keeper size bass would be recorded. At the end of the season the numbers would be tallied and the winner would get a box of oysters from me (I hope this isn't SPAM:( )

For those of us who don't get out much we could re-arrange the rules and make it month to month, or even total numbers of days fished for total numbers of keeper size bass.

I'm just thinking here, I don't really know if it makes any sense.

Any thoughts ?????????

You're gonna have ta deal with the whole boat vs. surf issues that'll be resurfacing.:hidin:

Yeh - we keep running aground on that boat -v- shore thing with the tourneys...

Well, we do have 2 Tourneys we run, one a year long tourney for biggest fish and one a 4 part C&R tourney where we meet up and people from the site fish together in small groups - twice in Mass & twice in Rhody... It's free and it levels the playing field for the tourney.

John, sounds easier. I'm not all that competitve, just thought it may be interesting--force me and others to keep a log.

Rhody surfcasting rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

goosefish, what if you win???
keeping a log is a big plan for me for next year...

goosefish 01-08-2004 10:07 PM

It could just be me against you. The winner has to take the other guy out dinner--Salvation Cafe.

hmm... the terriyaki salmon or the pork vindaloo.... maybe a salvation burger followed up by some chocolate banana purses......
How do I know this you ask.....

Its too easy for you man :) you live across the street :) unfair advantage - might as well use a boat :laughs: (before anyone gets bent out of shape - that was a light crack at humor :laughs: :laughs: )

do scup count? :hidin:

goosefish 01-08-2004 11:08 PM

Eben, after I draft the rules and regulations of this event, I'II drop you a PM, where your computer will choke, sputter, and moan at the size of the file.
Scup don't count--and if you use them for bait, the fish have to be legal size: nine inches.

ii was thinking and would like to setup something up for the boat side of a tournament for next year and would love to hear any input for you boaters out there. i know allot of us don't fish with allot of s-b members and i personally wouldn't mind changing that next year but we could do pictures of the fish and fill out a s-b boatfish entry form and turn it in. let me know if anyone has any interest in this.
