Eel rigging

I came up with this question after reading the thread on casting a live eel. How do you guys rig a dead eel for trolling? I fish out of a kayak most of the time, and it really sucks when a live eel gets away in the boat.

If you must, give its tail a good slap on the edge of the yak.

Seahoss,

I fish live eels from my kayak too. One trick I found is to put each eel in a ziplock bag and stick the bags in a soft cooler before I launch.

When you are ready to fish, hook the eel while it's still in the bag and then tear the bag off.

Hooked,
You had better poke some small holes in that bag or the eels are likely to suffocate if left in there for too long.
