cod jig colors
I have been getting ready to make some pipe jigs for this spring. I have been trying to get some ideas on how to finish them. Slip suggested I try the main forum (here) as I was initially ignored by those wood turners. A little teasing got their attention. Anyone over here willing to share their secrets for finishing copper tubing pipe jigs. Most of the Cod fishing I do is in shallow water in the spring. Once Stripers arrive, I lose interest in Cod.

Just a thought: clean the pipe with Never Dull or Brasso to put a good shine on it then clearcoat it.
The homemade jigs I've seen are a copper pipe with a drilled hole about 1/8" down with a beefy swivel and ring on one end and a beefy ring and treble hook on the other end (drilled holes are on opposite sides). Seems simple enough. Good Luck. |
