Blank opinions
Thinkink of wrapping my first rod this winter. Any opinions on a Rainshadow 1083 for the back beaches.

Lamiglas makes the 1083.
Rainshadow makes the 1087, 1088 & 1089 great blanks for the money |
I love the 1087 rainshadow for the beaches, it kicks ass. I know many others who are very happy with it also. Some guys toss everything with it even eels, I toss small stuff like those really small mambos up to 2 oz mr. wigglys and 2-1/2 oz needles. I get some long casts from that rod . I wouldn't waste the extra it cost on the lami, even though it has it's place(just too noodley for me)
I cats Yozuri mag darters excellant, and bombers too. |

1087 is a ballsy rod. I do reach for the 1088 a little more, but if I'm going out with a collection of plugs on the lighter side, the 1087 is a pretty good stick. I've even thrown eels with it on occasion. Plus it's much cheaper than the lami, and tougher to boot.
All in all, good stuff.:btu: |
