leadcore line
 

does anyone know how to spool up a reel with leadcore? do you use a backing on the reel? what is the diffence in diameter of say 30 lb test. say if a reel holds 300 yards of 30, approximnately what would it hold for leadcore?

I use mono backing, 30# test. I fill the spool wit the lead first and then put as nuch mono as will fit on reel. Then I take it all off and refill the reel with the mono first. That way you will get the right amount for sure.:D

Penn Jigmaster 500.

I use 30lb braid as a backing gives me more line on my Penn 209's. I like your idea on how to put the line on:claps:
