Van Halen......

just heard Hagar is back in for some new songs and a possible summer tour.

BigFish 01-28-2004 03:30 PM

Best news I have heard in a long time! VH with Sammy is the best incarnation I believe. Great news T-Lap.:kewl:

Scotch Bonnet 01-28-2004 04:35 PM

Too bad David Lee Roth evolved into such a loser........

He was THE MAN in the late 70's, Sammy can't hold a candle to the original Van Halen.

chris L 01-28-2004 04:38 PM

all I want is eddies X wife . oh valerie !

TheRattBoy 01-28-2004 08:15 PM

Dave and Sammy / apples and oranges, each added something different to the mix.each great doing their own thing. johnny "the Ratt Boy"

VH just hasn't been the same since Roth got booted. Saw them at the Boston Garden in '81, 10th row. Excellent show!

Oh yeah, that was with Roth

I Was there too..."Woman and Children First" Tour....Awesome show

fishweewee 01-29-2004 07:32 PM

Van Hagar back together again? :btu:

tlapinski 01-29-2004 07:38 PM

i never saw any of the VH versions. i love the roth stuff, and i have heard some van hagar tunes. i would be psyched just to see the band out there tearing it up. we'll see what happens.

BigFish 01-29-2004 08:26 PM

They sucked hard with Gary Cherone! Worst friggin album I ever bought! I am a big VH fan and I like to have all of my favorite artists albums......however, after hearing that album once I threw it out. Absolute worst album I have ever heard bar none! Glad Sammy is back, I like them with Sammy better than bubble gum snappin' Dave! Sammy lends a harder edge to the band! IMO:jump:

tlapinski 01-29-2004 08:39 PM

what was the name of the "hit" off of the van cherrone album? i have been trying to remember that for some time. i remember the video, it was set in an ice cave.

BigFish 01-29-2004 08:42 PM

News for ya....

There was no "hit". It was the only song off the album that got any air time and it sucked......don't recall the name! What did you think of that album T-Lap?

tlapinski 01-29-2004 08:53 PM

i never heard anything else off it. i just remember it got a little air time. unfortunately, i wasn't into VH in there prime. the first song i really knew was "Right Now". they probably formed the band right around the time i was born. (1978) i grew up on classic rock, and didn't venture away from that until i was in my early teens. that is probably why i still like 80's rock as much as the new heavy stuff that would make most of you kill yourself if you had to listen for 5 minutes. :smash:

Bill L 01-29-2004 09:15 PM

VH I an II were staples for me through high school, and I was at the Women and Children First tour at the Prov Civic Center, but it was pretty much all downhill from there after Roth flaked out

goosefish 01-29-2004 09:45 PM

I was in high school in the mid-eighties. Pink Floyd was huge and so was Sabbath and Maiden--I can remember that on our soccer team The Trooper was the official get pumped song. In college I started to get into the horn--played trumpet, and listened to loads upon loads of jazz. Now at the ripe age of thirty-three, I find myself playing Brahms and Satie and Ludwig Van:smash:
Of all the 80s stuff that I listend to I still love that early Floyd sound, not Sid Barret early, but Ummagumma, Meddle, and one of my all-time-favorites, Animals.

its put out by the easy all stars and it rocks:kewl:

word for word note for note version of dark side of the moon, but its all dub reggae

Bill L 01-29-2004 10:17 PM

spect?

goosefish 01-29-2004 10:17 PM

Never heard of it, but I love the old dub stuff. Floyd and reggae sounds interesting. 70s dub is great stuff. I highly recommend the trojan box sets and King Tubby and Lee scratch. I've got a bunch if you ever want to borrow some to blow glass to.

Bill L 01-29-2004 10:19 PM

and he never inhaled :laughs:

goosefish 01-29-2004 10:21 PM

fishweewee 01-30-2004 02:14 PM

YOu have to admit - David Lee Roth was kinda phaggy in a glam sorta way, no? :hihi:

chris L 01-30-2004 03:12 PM

man Im old ! you guys keep talking about DLR and SH . what about valerie ? I know most of you are too young to remember the show "one day at a time" , but she is one smoking 40+ year old woman . I hope I look that good when Im 40 .

david lee roth is a faggot and a premadonna , but can sing and sammy he needs a comb .

BigFish 01-30-2004 04:34 PM

Could be mistaken but.....

Sounds like Chris L wants to be 5' 5" tall, brunette, with breasts when he is 40?:laugha: Hmmmm........curious.:smash:

chris L 01-30-2004 04:58 PM

Im already 5'5" tall and 40+ with brown hair and lots of it but I got ripped off , no breasts .

goosefish 01-30-2004 07:14 PM

My girlfriend just burned a cold play CD. Now I've got a thing for Cold Play. Call it some kind of stigma, call it spite. Handsome young fellow with every women going crazy for him. But I tell you one thing this guy can sing. Great voice full of melodrama.

Slingah 01-30-2004 10:51 PM

VH was the band in the early 80's. I saw the 1984 tour front row at the gahden. The Van Haggar stuff is good too...just different.
Hey gf....Animals is one of my favs too...My favorite Floyd album anyway.
