Overseas fishing reels...
1 Attachment(s)
Why do manufactures make some reels only available in Asia? I have finally found a way to gey my hands on the Japan version of some of their reels. I had my eyes on the Japan edition of the new stella made especially for salt water..specs are awesome even compared to last years FA model. I saw one while on travel a few months ago and all I can say is wow...what a machine that was and I had to get one. It is costly but it is one over the top excellent feeling reel. I am sure if it was offered here it would sell esp to the offshore crowd. And now I finally found a way to ship it to my house from Japan....the internet is great isn't it? (HQ in CA will handle maintence and repairs) Now all I need is a small loan to pay for it.
Its good to have a birthday once and a while....come to papa... |

Grandwave...
Thanks for that link. I didn't see exactly what I was looking for (Stella SW 8000 HG) but it they do have a lot of the other Jap. reels and equipment. I wonder why they don't push some of that stuff to the major consumer of the world? |
Here's another one....www.japantackle.com....they have the 8000 HG listed. I have no idea why Shimano and Daiwa's high end line is not available for the U.S. market. Daiwa's Asian web site is loaded with products and info that is not on the U.S. site...your software has to be able to do language translations to use it properly.

My company ships all over the world and it's easier than you think to get equipment from anywhere. Australia, Japan, Taiwan are very sophisticated in international shipping and it's not a big deal at all. Log on to their website, use your cerdit card (the card Co. will make the currency conversion for you at competitive rates. Ask that the order be sent by Postal Express Service <EMS>. It should arrive at your door 4-5 days later at most. The cost for 3 pounds which is either one big reel or 2 small reels is about $29. Definately out of state so no sales tax. The post office is too busy to collect import duty when applicable which is usually 0.4%.
