My first rod
1 Attachment(s)
Well I finally, with a lot of help from Bud8fan, built my first rod. I thank Bud8fan for all the time he spent showing me the ropes, he's a stand-up guy. He was patient helping me thru all my screw-up's, and I had a lot of them!:smash: Tell me what you think. I still have to epoxy it but couldn't wait to show it off.

Now I have to do another one before I forget how. Man there's a lot of steps to remember.

nice job. way better than my first one. now you are addicted!
|
only your first....
The first one seems to take forever..and it usually does....
But the next few will go much easier then you think... Then before you know it, you have more rods than you ever thought you would. :D |
Nice Work :D
|
Good work.:btu: On the guide feet, stop wraping before your thread begins to climb, you'll still have plenty.
|
Yeah I noticed I climbed up the guide, I think I may have had the guide a little off center and I was trying to get the wrap equal on both sides.:smash: I'll know next time. I learned a lot of things not to do next time, ask Bud8fan.:laughs:

Dave,
you actually took to it quicker than anyone would expect. Only had a couple of oop's!! HELP! The entire time! Question for you? What part of it did you find the most time consuming? Take a look at the third pic and then look at the rod. Make sure you pack the black trim thread against the red braid prior to epoxy! Trust me guy's! The pic's dont do it justice! Now for the next one!! |
Russ, I think it took me the longest getting the wraps started, I'm all thumbs. I guess practice will take care of that. the butt wrap was a lot easier than I expected, I thought it would be much harder.
