ICE FISHING
whos been going? mikey, who else?
i think im going tommorow with my cuz to buckmasters. i want a big bass.:D  |
They had a small atricle in yesterday's Herald about ice fishing out in Worcester. The contest was won with a 5+ lb pickerel.
I only managed a couple small largemouths at Buckmaster, but I've caught fish at Horn Pond in Woburn as well. Ever see a 10 inch crappie eat a 4 inch minnow? I couldn't believe it until I saw it first hand. I spent this weekend trying two ponds, Sunday at Furnace pond in Pembroke (one hit all day, and lost the fish to a bad hook set). Yesterday, at Farm pond in Framingham, Nothing, Nada, Zilch. The only flag was from a bait run. This weekend looks like a warmer, wetter one, so I guess raingear and creepers may be in order. |
thanks for the report. :kewl:

Christian its been very slow for me all year. I have not got one pike. Getting a few bass and pics not much size.
|
I have been a couple of times. Early morning seems to be the best. Not many fish caught, but those that I did catch were all decent bass.
|
I've been out three times this year with a total catch of 2 pickerel.
It's always windy and cold as heII on the days I have been able to get out:af: |
a few picks and a nice bass 2-day:D

Going to try and get out again on Sunday... wife / weather permitting.
|
I caught three pickeral today at Stetson Pond. And one of them was 26.5 inches long and 4 pounds:D
