Looking for common info
I have yet in my career to put wood on a lathe and spin my own. I have Frankensteined many a creation but want to pull one in using something formed truly by my own hand. I have some experience turning wood but never on a small scale like plugs. A few basic questions:
What size lathe, what rpm is best, where to find a used one, books to read, workshops to attend, etc., etc., etc.l ANY help would be appreciated. Thanx |

For all the turners out there there is a book and video available called Turning Wood with Richard Raffan. I think you can get it through Woodcraft, or http://www.packardwoodworks.com/. Richard is a Pro wood turner and after you watch how he turns you'll be able to rip wood off a blank like there is no tomorrow :D :D :D. I'm sure there is a lot more info out there, but I found the video very helpful.
