4 stroke outboard

I am researching Yamaha 4 strokes. Any one have one or have any opions on them. Thanks in advance-I want to put a 2004 225 on a 23 foot proline.

Check out "www.thehulltruth.com" web site and do a search on it. There's been quite a bit of discussion regarding both 4-Stroke's as well as Yamaha's.

General concensus, Yamaha builds a great motor. Also from what's being reported, the 4-Stokes (in general) get slightly less fuel economy at idle and slow speeds, the 4-stroke would likely do a little better at mid-range, and the would be pretty close at W-O-T. The 4-stroke would be quieter.

This is comparisons with the 4-stroke vs the newer advanced technology 2-strokes. Fuel savings vs 2-strokes of 5 or 6 years ago would be fairly dramatic.
