Slipknot 03-04-2004 11:45 PM

don't know the specs, but it rolled too much and needs chin weight or a re-design.

looks shapely though.

it is about 8" long I think

Maybe there should have been another hook under the chin:confused:

well I'm no expert but I'd put a slug in the belly and a slug under the chin..
if you want it to really stay on top just a slug under the chin and go up a hook size...

bassmaster 03-05-2004 07:42 PM

slip make a popper out of it

Slip, If you want to figure out the best place, and amount, for lead without drilling the plug full of holes, get a few wide rubber bands and use those to hold the lead in place while you test cast. You can move the lead around, or change the amount until the plug runs how you want. Then, mark the plug where you need to drill it.

As a rough guess, I would say you want one shot around the center of the plug. This will take some of the roll out of it. If you put a shot in the chin, it will cause the nose to come down more. I'm thinking that the short, but well defined, face is causing the roll. Chin weight would enhance that action.

"LOOKS SHAPELY THOUGH"????? are you making a plug or the perfect mate???:laughs:

Canalratt1 03-07-2004 11:59 AM

Another thought for trying out where to weight plugs. You can purchase suspending strips, spots and now the even have a type of "putty". Putting these on where you think they need and swimming the plug may help you out. Never tried this just an idea.;)

TheSpecialist 03-07-2004 09:26 PM

Good idea Tony. You coming over tomorrow?

Slipknot 12-15-2009 12:33 PM

Does anyone know what happened to this plug once I got it finished? Anyone use it or fish it? I don't know who got it.

I should make another one because I'll bet it is the only one ever like it.
