On monday...
on monday im going to padre island texas for 10 days. I'm staying right on the intercoastal waterway and plan on doing some fishing for seatrout..but there are also redfish and black drum about but I dont really know how to target them. I think I have the sea trout figured out from my last trip... I basically fished for them like I would fish for springtime schoolies...
But what about the reds and blacks??? Is it a bait only thing? would they hit a plug??? educate me please I dont want to look like a yankee googan down there:smash: |

down there you're a yankee googan where can you go to be just a plain old googan? |
DRUM / fish huge, /giant/ clams on the bottom/
Red you eat, black toss back :) VB |

some googans, like yourself, took longer to exit the googan stage:bshake: |
Reds will hit artificials. Try some small gold colored spoons, or small jigs with plastic trailers. Top Dawgs, Spooks, etc for surface plugs.

Red's will hit Z-spooks on top and a Johnson golds spoon, that is what I use in Florida and they work;good luck. |
