Rookie Needs Rod Help
Never built a rod in my life, so I only buy rods "off the shelf"......I don't have the expertise nor equipment that you masters have.
So can you help me? I want to buy a nice boat rod to use with my Shimano 4500 for live lining bass. I like a longer rod with a nice taper to produce a medium action feeling. Also want a nice butt section, top of the line Fuji guides (ceramic vs metal??), and nice high quality seat, etc. Should I get graphite or e-glass? I am not looking to spend a fortune either, but a couple hundred dollars will do if it is quality. Any advice on manufacturer, make, model is greatly appreciated. Also, I'd be willing to look into having one custom made if you feel this is a better option. |
Newbie Advice
Take a trip down to Whareham and see Mike at M&D's Tackle.
(aka Cape Cod Tackle) He will take good care of you. |
How about a Sabre LB70M-B? Nice moderate action with a decent backbone...

If production rods is what you want take a look at the Shakespeare Uglystick TIGER Rods. They make a 7' spinning with a good flexable tip that can turn any fish out there and it also has fuji eyes |
