2004 Plug Swap Site Raffle

OK - its now time for the 2004 Plug Swap Raffle - these wicked pissah plugs were made by members of this site and they were nice enough to make extras (so I could drool on some) and one set to support the site...

I will have the tickes available via PayPal, check, or at the MSBA show :) ...

As this is a raffle, I will make chances available for sale but I want to know from you folks what price for the tickets...

Here is a pic that Newelly took - I want to add a larger pic this weekend:

Whatever the cost, I'll pay ya at the MSBA show. You gonna be there on Saturday?

Uncle Matt 03-17-2004 02:30 AM

John -

I think your asking what would be a reasonable price for a raffle ticket to win these plugs. If they are all included in one raffle, I say $10 per ticket is fair. It should drum up some money for the site here and think of it this way. Someone here could win all these plugs for only $10.

Come on guys. Let's help support the site here.

Crafty Angler 03-17-2004 05:50 AM

John - Put me down for $10 - I'll see ya at MassBass at the latest, but will probably touch base before the weekend - check your PM's.

Crafty Angler 03-17-2004 05:52 AM

Oops, just remembered, I'll see ya Thursday nite at the club meeting, so I can pick 'em up there - you oughta bring a bunch along, a lot of the guys there would be interested, I know.

tlapinski 03-17-2004 08:14 AM

i say keep the price low enough to get more people to buy a lot of tix. something along the lines of $3 each or 4 for $10. i know for some of the raffles i have run, more money is raised off the lower priced tickets than off the high ones. just my opinion and i know someone will argue it .......... :smash:

BigFish 03-17-2004 08:28 AM

At $5.00 each I think people might by more but I leave that to you JohnR, I will be buying just let me know how much and I will see you at the MSBA Show or at the meeting next week. Thanks JohnR.

RI Popper 03-17-2004 09:00 AM

Hey John, Send my yer address and I'll be glad to donate a plug to you for the raffle. I've got one left of the Mac Pattern RI Needle Popper (it's a killa). You can add it to the collection.

I think $5 each will make it so more members will be able to buy atleast one ticket, and as Bigfish said then they may be inclined to buy more and you can raise even more money.

JohnR 03-17-2004 09:07 AM

The raffle will be for the whole set! I'd hate to break them up so the winner wins all :hihi: . If I can, I'll bring the set with me tomorrow night.

I think Toby's price scheme works 3 each or 4 for 10 - why not make it 5 for 10??

All I can say is that the picture doesn't do the size of these puppy's justice. I'm thinking of building a 5 foot long model PT109 to hang Chum's ADCAP Torpedo plug off the side :hihi:

So ticket price will be $3 each or 5 for $10. If you want to use PayPal (preferred) use the S-B donate link below but also send me an e-mail with your name, site name and the paypal e-mail address you use so I know who has what address. It was hard figuring out the paypal names from the site people for the Nite Out ...

What I will do, is like last year, PM you your ticket numbers unless I see you in person. If I see you in person I can give tickets back. Last time it took a day to fill out and mail ticket stubbs when we had the raffle... (and I'm running out of hours for this month already :eek5: )

JohnR 03-17-2004 09:10 AM

Armand - I appreciate the offer but perhaps we can do that for a different raffle. I want to raffle these as a set  as these are the works of the plug builders participating in the swap. Every year people salivate over the "Swap Plugs", so this way they get a chance for them too. Of course, next year if you particpate in the swap :)

RI Popper 03-17-2004 09:13 AM

OK John, trying to help the cause.

JohnR 03-17-2004 09:38 AM

No prob, & I appreciate. Just understand that this is the works of the plug swap.... :) - thanks!

rob-s 03-17-2004 12:43 PM

a raffle sounds great, i may stand a chance the same as most, i can never win the auction method

thanks to all the swap makers:cheers: :claps: :kewl:

now where was that link:laughs:

RI Popper 03-17-2004 01:15 PM

I understand completely John, I want to do my part to help you out with the sight. Even if it's only a few lures donation. Keep up your good work.

maddog2020 03-18-2004 01:34 PM

I just sent in $20 via PP. Thanks for all the hard work, JR.

Hey, Katie - I asked JohnR to set aside 5 of those tickets in your name. Save your $ for the MA Bass show if you can make it. :)

" I'm 14 now and I build awsome websites! " - when I see that it makes me chuckle. I hope my 6 yr old daughter can say that when she is your age. She doesn't show much interest in fishing YET - she rather watch TV, or play in the sand. When she does go freshwater bass fishing w/ me she is patient enough to work a small sluggo so slow that she gets 5 hits to my one hit. :) Her hook up ratio is about 1 fish in 10 strikes. :P

RIROCKHOUND 03-18-2004 05:04 PM

John, PayPaled 10 smackers to ya... not sure if it was Bryan_Oakley@hotmail.com
or
RIROCKHOUND@hotmail.com

Bryan
