which plug bag

works for the extra long baits.. like salty's 2.5 needle and some of my monster swimmers.. i located a smaller bag that is ok for most poppers and short needles and the smaller swimmers.. but the big ones stick way out.. and i dont' want them to potentially pop out if i were to slip on the rocks..

thanks in advance..

(i am open to making my own tubes, any ideas on bags that might be available??)

I just seen the aquaskins Bag.
I got to get one.....................
they will hold long plugs
then there are these smaller ones I want 2 of them, they go on ya waider belt.

The good old Canyon bag's will hold most plugs, up to about 8 inches. The 2.5 ounce salty needlefish fits just perfect.

I've got the smaller Aquaskinz bag and it is just long enough for a 2 ounce Habs needle, but won't fit the larger plugs. The Aquaskinz bags have the quick release buckle closure which is nice.

What do you guys do with jumbo plugs? I made some 11" needles that I have no idea how I'm going to carry. Perhaps a bit of tubing thrown into the surf bag?

spence,,,,,,,, lay the 11" on top of the bag and then shut the Flap on the bag.

Well that was simple enough! Thanks,

The bigger Aquaskinz bag might do the trick. If not, try locating an older Coastal bag. They are hard to find and most owners have a hard time parting with them. They'll hold 12" + plugs.

thanks.. i'll look in to one..

you could also go to an army navy store and get a little demolition bag and load it with tubes -some of the larger army navy stores have many many kinds of over the shoulder bags in all sorts of dimensions

I was excited to check out the Aquaskinz bags but they forgot to put the belt loops on. What a bummer. I figured guys that fished and made bags would thingk to put the belt loops on along with the shoulder strap. They look good but they need a smaller bag that has 5 or 6 slots for up to 3oz plugs and beltloops. I think their smallest one, besides the belt bags that only have a couple of slots, has two rows of slots. Thats too many plugs for me to carry on the rocks at night. The perfect plug bag has yet to be made. I like the Canyons but they have too many slots and the tubes are cheesy.

I got a BW sports bag at SWE-nice bag for $25. and it'll hold the big stuff, except for my 13" 3 jointed eely swimmer:D

The Canyon bags are the ones but they need a tweener bag that has just 5 slots. Joe use some influence and get them to make that 10 slot bag in a 5 slot bag with a pork rind pocket and tin pockets and I'll take two. Just make sure to tell them to put belt loops on the back with the shoulder strap.

I talked with Alberto and Kadir today about their new plug bags and was very impressed. What an awesome product, I will be getting one of the large ones soon off of you Joe.

Actually, Canyon does make a 6 slot bag.

Their 21 slot bag should hold a 10 or 11" plug. The 4 big slots in the top row hold three Habs 3-1/2 oz needles, or 4 darters, or 3 Gibbs bottle plugs, etc.

Hello everyone,

First let me say, thank you to all for introducing yourselves and for stopping by at the AquaSkinz booth.

NewellGuy: It was a pleasure speaking with you and thanks for the goodies....you know Alberto still thinks one of those is his :p .

Dave: Yes, you could barely control your excitement... you gotta have em....when you use these bags, you will see how much better they are than anything else you have thrown over your shoulder.

Chipwood: We actually did not forget the belt loops. We did not make the bags with loops because the loops really don't work as well as the system we have on the bags with the "D" rings that are sewn on the bottom, back of the bags. The loops restrict the usage of the bag and keep the bag too close to the body as well as create unwanted weight on the lower back. When you use our system with the "D" rings you will find that the weight is transfered to the loop on the belt and there is no fatigue on the shoulder and lower back. Also, the loop & "D" ring allows you to work with the bag because it isn't pressed against your body. Additionally, when you are done fishing all you do is unclip the bag....no removing it from your belt etc... This system will still keep the bag attached to your belt but will work better than the more traditional belt loops....so you see we have thought it through and have field tested it extensively ;)

As for the inserts, they are 2 1/4 wide and 8 inches long...they hold big plugs. On the demo bag we purposely put a mixture of plugs from the largest Danny's to 2 1/2 oz. needles and they all fit perfectly to the length. We actually measured all plugs that are commonly used including the fattest (1 9/16 in.) before we produced the inserts.

As for a 5 slot bag....we are in development right now for that size bag and it will be available probably next year.

Once again, thanks to all that stopped by and for those that bought any of the AquaSkinz products, we welcome your feedback. If you care to comment, please visit our website and send your messages via the e-mail link.
