Garmin Data Cards

I just got a USB data programer to download onto the Garmin Data Cards. I did not know what size would be good so I got the 32MB card for around $80.00

I loaded charts and tides from ME to NY City from my Blue Chart SW. I'm am now woundering what size card I could of got away with.

Anybody have any experince with this?

This entire NE region is about 8.7mb if you download every map in the unlock code. I bought a 16mb card for mine.

Will having too much data on the card slow things down? I just shoved 3 data areas on one 32m card!

Don't i feel dumb. I bought a 64mb just to make sure i would have enough room for Plum Island down to Ptown. It looks like I'll have about 55mb left over!!!!:af:

I talked to garmin before I bought my card. Fpr the area I wanted, from CC down to NJ and out to the canyons, 16MB was marginal. I wound up buy the pre-programmed "large" chart chip for the area.
