HOLY COW...that was fast. unbelievabley fast :D
|
On the 60#...what do they mean by 16# class and two leader butts?
|
I like seagaur

I just received the flouro mentioned above and it doesn't look to be the material that you guys are useing, this stuff is fly fishin leader.
Can I get some help?? Ben? |
Goose, maybe someone from the flyfishing forum could chime in?
Tapered,non tapered,mono,fluro,weighted, flyfishing stuff always confused me. |
there is an orvis store in quincy market. maybe i can give this a try soon.
|
goose i believe that this a leader with one end being 60# tapering to 16#. mostly used for breaking fish records for igfa rules and regs. its like using 50# test as a main line then tying youre leader on that is 20#test. just a guess.

Your right SJ thats what it was. But I'm looking for the 50# Mirage flouro leader that crazy Al speaks of ,,,by Orvis.

Goose - If you're trying to order from the website, you need to click on "Tippet Material" then "Mirage Tippets". You want the spool of 30 meters that cost $15.95. These are what you're looking for. The numbers .017"-.030" are the diameters of the line which correspond to the breaking strenght. You want the .025" which is 52lb test. When you click to purchase the $15.95 spool, it asks you what size, 21=39lbs, 23=44lbs, 25=52lbs, 27=60lbs and 30=80lbs. I use the 52lb test and like it better than any other fluorocarbons out there and I've tried many of them including Seagur, Triplefish and others. Hope this helps.
