Any regulations regarding the number of rods a person can use when surf fishing?

When bait fishing, I see guys using 3 or 4 rods (usually always at least 2). Any regulations regarding the amount of rods 1 person is allowed to use when surf fishing/fishing from shore (or boat)?
I couldn't find anything in my searching.

I have never called anyone any names, I have never "put down" anyone for posting questions. All of my questions have been fishing related.

jesus buddy im 20 years old and know better than to ask a million questions. find out on your own, its more fun that way and more rewarding

Striprman - I think you are getting bumped around a bit becuase you are in posting overload. There is a limit that one can hit by asking questions. It is not a predefined limit and some have more patience than others. But it is simply a question of balance. A sweet spot of asking and giving and reading and letting others have a shot on top of the soap box... Find some balance and I think things will smooth out for you...

John might be time to put a limit on post per day by newbies.,......:smash: :laughs:

Well, actually New York state DOES have a law re: amount of lines you can have out at any one time in marine waters. (I think it's three).

I would say the rule would be two. Always heard that # and it seems to be proper fishing etiquette. Every now and then, you'll see articles written on surf fishing etiquette and 2 poles max is also mentioned. Being a plugger, this doesn't really matter, until you go to your favorite spot and a guy is fishing 4 poles and you're SOOL!

WW- The limit in NY is two rods per angler, and that even applies on boats.
