Aerator for KeepAlive livewell
Hi - I'm setting up a livewell (my first) for herring. I was planning to use a smaller container, but after re-reading the ultimate herring thread (for the umteenth time) i decided to go with a 30 gal Keepalive tank.
Now - since I had planned on using another container - i've already purchased a "floater" keepalive aerator pump. I can see that the tank is set up for a stationary pump (with the mounts already in place). So - here's the question. Should I stick with the floater pump or exchange it for the fixed pump? Seems that the floater would be easier to clean - but im not sure if it will generate the desired water flow (because it would be moving around). Anybody used the floater? pros / cons? Thanks in advance. |
After selling the units for about 4 years now we have found that the 460 floater is only for about 12-18 herring we use the #1100 for up to 36 fish and get the supper filter it will stop most of the clogs
