surfster question

I have a couple of surfster lips I wanna use, but don't have a beltsander to plane the head-will it swim with a round head like an atom 40, or a flat head like a danny????
or should I just spin them up and go use eben's sander?

Unless Ur a skilled Carpenter U will probably do more harm than good with a chisel to ur self an the plug.I suggest tryin some aggressive sandpaper like 80 or even rougher for the first coupla passes.then work ur way to finer stuff.just hold the paper on the work bench an turn the plug top down an work away.cedar is pretty soft an it shouldn't take long at all.U'll be able to get a evenly sloped top.make ur lip cut an line it up with that.

Buy a 2" drum sander for your drill press... or rough it out with a band saw.
