Hypothetical question - MikeCC maybe?
 

I'm looking for a spare spool for my Abu Big Game 7000CL. I asked Hatteras jack at the show and they said I had to change gears and a bunch of other junk. I doubt that. Red Top had none. Anyone know where I can one?

Not sure who you spoke to? But any 7000 CL spool will fit.
Not all 7000 model reels are interchangable. Regards Big Dave

In order to change it with a regular 7000 you have to change the gears, bearings and spool because the spindle is a different size.
But I do have one.

Part of the reason for the confusion is that Abu Garcia, in their "infinite wisdom" :rollem: decided to call the BG level wind a "7000CL" even tho it's really a "7500" series reel, meaning 5.3:1 retrieve.

Any 7500 series spool will fit a BG7000CL. Whether it's the silver BG, the black 7500 C3 or the gold 7200.

I.ll swear they try to confuse things on purpose!! :confused:
