Our Fearless Leader

John was cursed this morning as one striper after the other came unglued, but this one did get hauled into the boat [img="http://www.rgsiroisco.com/johnredmond.jpg"]

I had a fun weekend fishing with Slipknot Saturday and John today. Looks like none of us will be cashing the $1000 check for 1st place, I hoping FW was lucky this afternoon and found a blue to go with that nice 36 lber she nailed on Friday. John and I caught nothing but small ones off hardings this morning FW, live macks worked well everywhere but nothing over 20 today.

It was fun to get out with a couple members, but I'm whipped :). My right elbow and wrist are junk and I think it will be days before I recover.

GS - I don't know if FW won it or not but she did get a sweet blue to add to her bass...

Started out Saturday with Schoolie Monster as we followed (slowly) Got Stripers sea rocket out and did not fare anywhere near as well as GS and Slipknot did. Total for the day 1&3/4 DogFish (one SDR was the largest Dogfish I've ever seen and actually fought well)... But we learned some new water and had some fun...

This morning I met GS at the ramp and the mystical eel produced nada, prime conditions but might as well have been throwing vegetables... The I headed to class where GS frequently persuaded large schoolies and some barely legals on his jerk baits. I've been humbled and now I bow before the master... GS's success on the jerbait was actually very impressive and I hope to look into it more.

Then we found the macks... Pure joy ;D. We fished one area with a lot of smaller fish action while navigating around and between numerous lobster pots. Then we moved into a new area where we found some bigger fish (the largest I weighed was 18.5#s) and I managed to loose several fish after what should have been a good circle hooking. These fish came undone well after the fight began and one nice bass dragged me across the bottom and broke me off - would have liked to see that one... Meanwhile GS is getting bass on Jerk baits and macks with an ear-to-ear grin ;D ...

But I really had alot of funa nd learned a lot too. Another great thing about fishing - always opportunity to learn new things...
