All Feather Streamer
 

Bob Popovics has posted a feather wing streamer on another site. It is made entirely of feathers and creates a fine fusiform. He doesn't explain how to make it so I made it my way. I added a black marabou throat and flash to the tail to his model. I made it with a tail and three collars of saddles spaced along the shank.

Hook: EC 253 3/0

Thread: Black

Tail: 2 strands purple flash, 2 strand black crystal flash surrounding the shank (trim 1 1/2" longer than tail) under 4 purple saddles surround bottom 2/3 of shank and 2 black saddles on the top 1/3 (choose saddles that are of irregular lengths)

Collar #1: 3 purple saddles surrounding bottom 2/3, 2 black saddles on top 1/3

Collar #2: 3 purple saddles surrounding bottom 2/3, 2 black saddles on top 1/3

Collar#3: 3 shorter purple saddles surrounding bottom 2/3, 2 shorter black saddles on top 1/3

Throat: Black marabou

Eyes: Jungle Cock

Nice night time fly... Very interesting construction and concept. By the looks of it, you ought to be able to do some neat patterns that mimic some of the good swimming plug color schemes.

I would like to see what you can do with this approach. give it a shot!
