reverse lever on reels

whats up with this thing? anyone ever use that little switch on your reels to reverse. now i did see a freshwater fishing show where some guys clicked it and started to reverse the wind, but i thought thats whats the drag is supposed to do. i have never found a need for it.

I only used it a couple of times to let more line out before I cast. Other than that, I don't see a need for it.

just something else that can go wrong IMO

I've been using a Slammer for a bit now. I don't miss the reverse one bit. I agree, it's just something else to break...

In the old days when anti reverse dogs used to go CLICK CLICK CLICK, youcould shut off the noise so you could hear the waves.:smash:
