Shimano Spheros

Well just picked it up yesterday and brought it back yesterday. Very first cast the line roller completely disintegrated.
Bearing, washers, spacers, screw gone soon as the bail flipped back with the first crank of the handle.
Will have to wait for a replacement as there were no 8000s left.
I gotta believe that's a fluke(no pun intended) as Shimano makes a damn fine reel.
We'll see how things are when I pick up the new one.

Got a couple and fish them hard, except for the usual lube oil and filter work I have had no problems.;)

Glad to hear it.I musta got the one bad apple in the bunch. Its gonna take at least a week for another to come in.I really wanted to "play" with my new toys but I guess that's why we all
have more than one setup.

I have an 8000 sized Spheros - its one my favorite rod. :)

Never had a problem with it - great reel & I dunno why folks don't buy it over the Stradic.

Surprized to hear that happened. Bring it back to the shop you got it from and see what they say. Stuff happens. :P
