USCG Captain License
I am interested in getting an official USCG Captain's license, and was hopeing some of the commercial or charter folks here might steer me in the right direction. Are there standard courses I need to take? Where can I find info on this? Etc.
Your help is greatly appreciated my friends. |
look up seaschool or boatwise
they'll teach you everything, give you the test, help you out with the paperwork etc... mike |

yes !!!!!
mark groseti is the man!!! he filed all my paperwork, took it to the coast gaurd, went thru all my forms, sea service time, phisical, drug test, first aid etc... and all via e-mail...i never met the guy. just went to the gaurd station when he said so, and picked up my ticket. well worth the money to go thru him.. |
I took a class through SeaSchool this winter. Their website is www.seaschool.com The class was two weekends and the five weeknights in-between. You then had a week to study before the exam. They offer courses all over the palce at different times of the year.

Did my 100GT via Boatwise, great organization; Used Mark Grosetti as well, made life easier and saved me a trip to Boston, as well as a day off work during a hectic time of year, well worth the 100 bucks or so he charged...

I second that Jeff, an excellent program. |
Is that the same as a "six pack" liscense or something different? I thought it was just a written test, I'm considering getting the liscense in the future so just curious.
