Not a good idea, wire and lead core are best on a non-levelwind... In addition to what Slipkont said, you would probably trash the levelwind or kink and ruin the wire line...

Wire Line doesn't cast worth a damb.

The Penn 49L is a good wire line reel. It has a deep & narrow spool, which is wire friendly.

Penn 330GTI, and a good 6'6" rod. I use a Penn Sabre. I haven't had any problems at all with my setup...........
