CC National Seashore and commercial bass fishing

I got a call 2nite where a friend heard from a friend that the Seashore was going to have a meeting this month or next about closing or banning commericalized striped bass fishing from the beach within the park. Probably one of those late winter/early spring rumors but wondered if anybody else had heard anything of this nature? Doesn't make sense since there is a commercialized dune tour company that runs probably a dozen or more trips a day out there in the summertime.....

Should I bring my 60 lb. scale with me?

Lets see them try to enforce that one. In all my years out there I think I have seen the rangers out there after midnight once. And the idiots got dug in real bad in a cut.

If anything, they should restrict people who simply drive on to sit in the sun!!!!:smash: There are over two dozen beaches within a half hours drive from there and you can't drive on those to fish, so maybe the sunbathers should go to one of those!:ss: :ss: :ss: :ss::ss: :ss: :ss::ss: :ss:

If they do have that hearing, and yer friend is going, have him ask that the National Seashore Charter be read into the record...
years ago when they tried to ban the buggies out there, this was done.... If they read the Charter, it is pretty clear, that any activity, that took place out there before the Feds took it over, will continue after.... Historical Use.... beach buggys was even written into the charter, and I do belive the gathering of fish for sale, or personal use, is in there as well...

Ban all motorized vehicles from the beaches, and PWC period.
They don't belong there in the first place.

If you're too damn lazy to walk you don't deserve the fish anyhow.

That coming from a boat fisherman Likwid?:gorez::D

Nah nothing to do with boats, and everything to do with hanging around too many people who've been doing research on the conservation of the Cape and Islands.
