Re-glueing Felt Soles
Last week I noticed that the felt soles on my wading shoes are starting to come apart (from the middle of all places). The heel ends are almost worn to the shoe, so I was going to buy a new pair while i was hitting up the fly shop, but they didn't have any
Do they have them at /#^^^^&s/sports authority/wal-ly world? how much do they cost? Is it worth buying the type that have the studs in them? I already have the hodgman korkers. What should i use to glue them  I was planning on using plyobond. |
try Cabela's or L.L. Bean

I think you can order direct from KORKERS.com,I get the ones with the studs ,it cant hurt, ...I use the 3M CONTACT CEMENT ,JUST MAKE SURE BOTH AREAS ARE CLEAN , after you apply the cement to both surfaces , stick them together and pull them apart for a few minutes, this is important, they seem to hold better longer this way and put them back together again and I just go right over the old felt

I had the felt heel of my Orvis silver labels pop off a few seasons ago. Glued it back on with Aquaseal and waited a few days and it held up great.

I like "Marine Goop" - they have it at Home Depot and West Marine. You get a lot for your money.
When you buy the replacement soles, (even the Korkers) they don't come with enough glue. I found that if you put a lot of glue on and then tape the sole on while the glue is curing, you get a better fit. Korker Studded Felts http://surfcasting-rhodeisland.com/S...ed_felts15.JPG Joe |
