A lot of GREAT people named above!

I'd like to throw another of my favorites on the list and that's Blues Saraceno.

I had the opportunity to play in a garage band with Blues WAY BACK in the day.

I remember one time we were just foolin' around with Johny B. Goode and Blues went off on a tangent. I put my sticks down, walked around the front of my drum kit, sat down with my back against one of the bass drums, and watched / listened to him erupt. It was awesome and, he was only in Jr. High at the time!

Thanks for the post. It brought back some good memories of some 20 years ago!

Cheers,
Rob

Havn't heard Blues Saraceno in years! Another overlooked one...Steve Morse. One of the best all around guitarist. And a nice guy too! Vito Brata- I remember that tribute he did for SRV-"Blue Monday". Michael Schenker(not Ravi). Lawng Islands(Carle Place) own Joe Satriani and the student Steve Vai. John Petrucci of Dream Theater(L.I. again).Alan Holdsworth, Segovia,Eric Johnson and on and on...

Ditto on many of those already noted - Clapton, Hendrix, SRV, Duane Allman, Steve Howe. But here's a few not mentioned yet:

Peter Buck (REM)
The Edge (U2)
Lowell George (Little Feat) - for those who like slide guitar
Pat Metheny (Jazz)
Martin Barre (Jethro Tull)

and maybe my all time favorite - Johnny Marr (Smiths)

Crafty Angler 04-27-2004 05:14 PM

Okay, I was keeping it to rock and blues, here's a few more:

Taj (major omission on my part, best in terms of blues history)

Pat Metheny, certainly -

Doc Watson and his late son Merle

Stewie 04-27-2004 05:27 PM

Lowell George,Billy Gibbons,Albert Collins, MUDDY,MUDDY,MUDDY,Henry Vestine.
