|
I want a herring run in my back yard to.
|
I dont mean to be 'Coi' but watch out for the raccoons!
thats a clever idea.. hey they might lay soem eggs and you'll have lots of herring:D |
no coons up here on the hill, just tons of squirels.
definitly going to be some egg laying going on! i could see them tonight, doing the touchy-feely thing. put 11 more in there tonight. total=17 :D |
is this for real, mike? herrings in ur backyard? if it is, then its an amazing idea, but watch out for the water bill, man.;)
|

My friend just built a pen. We were wondering how many you can fit in there? It is 6ftx 4ft x 3ft. Thanks
|
THATS SOME COOL A$% SH#@ !
Dude! Holy cow. Watch out for poachers.:D :) :bgi:
:behead: |
Do you check the oxygen level in the tank after it's loaded??
|
poachers will be shot on sight !!, even coons.
O2 level?,nope. just get 'em there, asap. once there in there, the'll be sooooo happy, they'll make babys. then after that, the baby's mom and dad are going for a long boat ride...... mike |
Please be super careful with that "rugrat" sitting there watching the fishies! Don't let him alone for a half a second. The water does not need to be very deep for a little one to get into big problems.
Also, keep a watch out for Jonathan Livingston Seagull. If they see your bait they will swarm in and clean you out. Would suggest some netting hung over the pool. Osprey love Herring. |
gotta have em
I did the same thing, Ill have to take some pics. I have mine an hour and a half away from the closest salt (berlin mass I keep em in my stream all month and bring em down as i need em.
|
Nice set up. IN a few years if you see herring trying to make it back to your backyard your in like flint dude!
|
ya thats legal. no wonder the population is recinding.
|
nothing illigal about it.......
none were poached......... and i aint sellin 'em......... jealous are we? |
don't care if legal or not but when there gone O'well . commercial fisherman help u eat better.
|
He may be helping the herring by starting a run in that creek.
|
I'd be careful, putting pictures of altered streams on the internet, if you don't have DEP Number and conservation permits. If you have all the paperwork, that's a sweet set up. Just a  's up!
|
Looks kinda like a backyard Koi Pond to me....
|
yep,
backyard koi pond. not commercial at all, just a very serious, recreational, addiction to catching striped bass.--> striped bass eat herring. i am very much indeed! "HELPING" the herring population!. the way i figure it,,,, these guys are going to make "tons" of babys. be it in the backyard, or floating in a cage in the atlantic ocean. better than being stuffed into plastic bags, and pickled, buy the nospeaks what if i put up a picture of a bucket full of shiners?? mike |
Mikeguiver's at it again!...
Great idea! |
