Finally got into a few fish last night. Nothing too big, but was great to be on the water again!!:happy: I actually caught my 1st striper on a Storm Wildeye... I think I may try using them again.

I have done well this year jigging the 9" storms. I was funny to see a 24" fish with this big slab of rubber hangin' out of its month.:laughs:

Just curious anybody know how much the 4" and 6" storms weigh?

3 inch = 1/4 ounce
4 inch = 3/8 ounce
5 inch = 1/2 ounce
6 inch = 1/2 ounce

Has anyone tried out the Storm jigs?

i caught probably a dozen or so up to 27" last night all on 5" storm shads.

I think the 6 inch is 2 ounces and the 5 inch is an ounce or something...

The weights I posted were provided from the Storm website.

S-J I saw those dimensions on their site as well however after using the 6" Storm yesterday I can say it is certainly more than 1/2 ounce. I would agree w/ John that it probably @ 2oz. Regardless of the weight, they do catch fish!:D

Caught 15 this morning and 6 yesterday on 5 and 6" storms - all bunker colors. One 33" Fish ripped the lead head out of a 6". It was a great fight on light spinning gear!!

Anybody have speciial tricks for removing gut hooked storms? Had one schoolie that I just couldnt get the storm out of this morning. Tried and tried but since I was doing more damage to him trying to get it out - I ended up letting him go with it still inside. Poor little guy Isnt going to make it too far unless he can spit the think up somehow.

FishWebb, I thought the weight seemed a bit off, but I figured they would know:)

S-Journey that weight must be for just the jig head. I have only used the storms a couple of times and have not caught anything on them. I guess I will have to keep them honest and keep using them.

B-assman, I haven't really found a trick but the best way to avoid that situation is to just crush the barbs on them. I have been amazed at how bad a 12-14" schoolie can inhale the 4" storms and I hate hurting the little guys so I just crush the barbs on them now before I start throwing them.

I have tried multiple sizes/color of storms, crippled herring, cocohoe, fin-s, and kastmaster and have been totally skunked this spring. I am ready to pull my hair out. Have been 6 times so far and nothing. UGH.

I just scaled 2 different 6" Storm on the "Mail scale" here at work. they came up 1.85 and 1.9 oz.
