some ri boating info please
My anniversary is coming up and we would like to spend it on the boat in RI thurs thru sunday morning what I am looking for is a marina that will let me keep the truck and trailer there plus a transient slip for 3 nights something that has showers and restraunts around we have no problem sleeping on the boat and are going to be gone most of the day come back in at night any ideas as where we can go.
thanx |
Mike, the heck with the anniversary, I got more herring.:laughs:

Try Champlin's on Block Island. Very nice, all the facilities, live bands and a bar on the dock. Snack bar open late......can't beat it.

fishaholic18,
Don't know to sent boat picture in message mode. |
my main problem is towing the boat and where to leave the truck and trailer for 3 day
called all the newport hotels nothing with a transient dock i could allways leave truck at fort adams now I need to find a place for the boat at night.

Try "Southern view" marina in Jerusalem if you want to stay on the mainland. On Block try Champlain's.

I can find a marina ok
the main problem is the truck and trailer where can i put in and keep it for 3 days something safe!! Thanx I dont mind anchoring out in Newport take the water taxi in I have a sister who lives on the harbor so I can use her place to clean up Im really leaning towards fort adams I know you can get a permit to park over there and try to get a mooring in Newport I can do day trips to either Island this trip is all about picnicing no fishing we just want to explore the RI coast you know be together stuck on a boat for 3 days no fishing schools busting bait on top and no rods just enjoying the company of each other!!:laughs:

I have a hard time taking romantic walks along the beach. Seems i always see a swirl, flash or some other indication of fish. I get distracted easily.:D |
sort of off subject but - west marine in Braintree has chartbooks from Narragansett to Nantucket for $20 in their discount corner.
and to stay on subject - bring a fishing rod, nothing is worse than seeing birds busting and not having your gear. You don't have to go for them, but knowing that you can will give you peace of mind. have a good trip. |
Fishsmith is correct

I forget the name of the lot but there is a public lot right at Point Judith that I have left the boat at for several nights in a row while staying at Champlin's. From there you launch, take a left under a short little bridge, take another left and you can see the breakwater at Point Judith.
I would park the truck and trailer there, stay at Champlin's, and have a great time! Sorry but I don't feel comfortable giving you any more detailed advice than that seeing as it's your anniversary! ;-) |
