I know the guy annoyed a lot of you but I thought it was hilarious, just some of the things he came up with. You gotta admit some of the things he posted made you chuckle a little. Anyone else here miss his comments like I do?

He's the great canal fisherman, he'll fish anywhere. Wherever there are stripers, you will find him there. From Bell Road down to
Scusset, he's mighty hard to find, the great canal fisherman has stripers on his line.
He likes the Maritime acadamy, he likes stone church and cracked rock, under the Hi "T"s on down to old bridge road. He likes 100 steps, the basin and the oil tanks as well as the rader tower, he likes the skating rink and 225, Aptuxet hole and Keene street or the propane tanks, midway gate or the herring run, Sagamore and Bourne Bridge recreational areas as well as the railroad bridge you will find him there, the great canal fisherman fishes everywhere.

My friend, depends on the season, the tide, and the time of day.
You think the stuff I write I get out of a book? I don't think anyone who has ever read anything I ever wrote thinks I got got anything "out of a book". The stuff I've written here, you can't find in books.

You can catch them on a rising tide in the Spring and Summer and a falling tide when they are headed South. I love fishing the top of the tide in Autumn when they are comming back down, and the rising tide when they are headed North. But, if I have a "window of opportunity", I'll go just about any time. I like jigging, top water and bait. I don't like eels (I've caught alot on eels, but I just don't like them) To each his own I guess.

Ever get stuck on the bottom?

By the way, you certainly do make some nice lures, I guess those don't get stuck on the bottom too often. I've made some lures, certainly not as nice as yours, but they do catch, so I'm satisfied. Your a lucky man to live on the Cape, you have a nice business and have worked hard to make your guide service successful. I lived on the Cape back in the '70's. You like fishing the beaches, I drive from Brockton to the canal. The fish only have 3 shorelines to travel, mainland, Cape and outer beach. Everyone has their favorite places, favorite tides, methods.
Well, heres hoping you get only large .

striprman 05-26-2004 06:37 PM

When I used to fish at Nauset and Race point, I'd go there at low tide, rake up a bunch of sand eels and put them on my sand eel rig with a pyramid sinker. 50 pound test and 3 mustad's on a dropper. They ever fill in those big puddle ruts right inside the beach entrance? Those were deep enough to fish in.

bassmaster 05-26-2004 09:35 PM

It's hard to fish the tanks when a barge is always parked there.

not really You dont fish the tanks, You fish near the tanks
when a tanker is off loading oil there that big old tanker creates an eddy and the rip going off from the bend and that tanker makes for some nice fishing at times on the west.
If Your going to mention spots make sure You know how to fish them.
that was an 80's spot for me

iluvspots 05-26-2004 10:34 PM

I'm taking great notes.

This is great, can you burn another one online?

bassmaster 05-26-2004 10:39 PM

You know, I caught some nice 'togs and flounders there on sea worms at slack high too.

Where can I dig seaworms on the canal? "minus tides?"
Ever use periwinkles for bait?
Are the squid in at the basin yet?

bassmaster 05-26-2004 10:44 PM

the squid are at stop and shop
go to the bridge and do a swan dive You will have a ton of worms
