Eels and the night bite shutting off

Good conditions last two nights a litle cool after the sun went down. Friday 26lb on 1st cast broken rod ended night very early. Had to avenge my loss last night, very consistent bite on eels from 6pm to 8pm last night as soon as it gets dark it stops. Moved around a bit to see if the fish moved with the tide but could not relocate. Anyone else seeing the bite drop off when the sun goes down. Went through a dozen eels from 6 to 8 fish biggest fish was 18lbs.

Lemme ask ya sumthin, how long did ya stay after after it got dark? When you are catching fish right before dark, they have a tendency to stop feeding right when the darkness settles in, but often resume about an hour or two later. I think it's like an adjustment period for them, who knows, but I've seen it all too often.

2 hours after dark without one hit, then moved on
