was on a boyscout trip this weekend on one of the islands. these 2 kids caught it on a seaworm. they didnt wanna touch it so i held it up for em. im guessing it was around 7-8 pounds. the gut was HUGE. full of shrimp and crab and lobster bits. :D :D

Nice fish....you should have told them they needed to earn their "fish holding" merit badge!:D They probably would have held it in a second!

Did you release it or fillet it?

thefishingfreak 05-30-2004 08:30 PM

lots of "buckteeth" hang arround the pileons in the hahba.

Christian 05-30-2004 08:30 PM

some of the best fish ive ever tasted:)

Notaro 05-30-2004 08:34 PM

blackfish in haba? i never heard of having a black fish in haba except for ron powers' article on OTW on south shore fishing.

thefishingfreak 05-30-2004 08:37 PM

not a blackfish.
"tog" tatog, toetag
big buck teeth, white chin.
blackfish=black sea bass, no teeth black and purple

Notaro 05-30-2004 09:04 PM

If I'm not mistaken to get there fishing merit badge they need to Catch, Clean, and Cook a fish. That would have been tasty over an open fire

Notaro...remember a few weeks back when we were casting?

You were about 10 feet away from major blackfish condominiums.

Shhhh, don't mention any specific spots.

Nice Christian,

I was out around there Fri night and Sunday. Saturday was just too cold and too windy. Hope you had good campfires.
