Knots for the fish finder...

When adding a fishfinder to the line, what type of knots do you use to make the fishfinder not drop all the way down to the hook? Especially if you're not using steel leaders?

I noticed that people have differing styles on what works and what doesn't, and I want to find out what works and how it's done.

I have my ways, but I'm beginning to think my method sucks.

:laughs:

You generally use a swivel for this, not a knot. I'm not sure what kind of knot is big enough for this, but it will get pounded to hell and break.

Most people connect the running line to the leader with a barell swivel. If you connect with a blood knot or other than put a bead on the running line before the knot.

I know this. ;)

But sometimes I like to do without a swivel.

then use a bead instead of the swivel .

running line-----fishfinder---runningline---swivel---leader (usually 60lb mono or fluro)-----hook
