No Bass today in Rhody

An afternoon of fishing in Matunuck, Rhode Island brought some wind dried eyes and a potenital cold. Nothing in the way of school bass at this time . A couple regulars had a handfull fish several days ago but nothing seems to have moved in since... Spring training for Schoolies! Got alot of casting in but that is about it... Next Weekend

John - I have a couple of quick questions regarding fishing @ "west wall". Which tide do you believe produces best and do I need corkers to fish the wall safely?
Thanks

Hey Striperbum? Whaassupp? The main thing seems to be moving water. Different tides with the wrong wind or a glass surface might not yield a fish ('course, decent conditions yesterday with no bass). As long as the water is moving around with some wind coming at your face, conditions are good to draw the fish in, especially after some warm weather.
...Korkers, some sections along the wall are slick enough to warrant the use of korkers, more so when the tide is down. Most people I know that otherwise would use Korkers do not use them at this spot, personally I don't use them there (although they may have prevented one little spill I had yesterday)
Where you there yesterday??

John - No, I was not in RI yesterday. Took a road trip up to Augusta ME for the Sportsman Show @ Civic Center. It was a good show with a lot of "local" flavor. Plenty of inland Maine hunting/fishing sports shops, Guides, lodges, boats, and lots of quality outdoor artists' work. There were even people walking the show floor with hunting dogs! I must say it was the most down to earth (enjoyable) sportmen show I have attended!
I am planning to try the west wall (my 1st time) the third week of April. Maybe I'll see you there!

Sounds good! Maybe next time I'm down there I'll take some photos and post them... Give you an idea what it looks like...
Where are you from?

John - Current residence is on the banks of the beautiful Merrimack river - Bradford MA.
It would be great to see some pictures of what the place looks like! Hope there a tackle shop nearby that I can get some info, maybe a "hot local fly" or even bait. Thanks again !
