do you guys use bandsaws?

when you guys are finished on the lathe, do you use a bandsaw on things like pikies to get the correct profile? just wondering what else i would need besides a lathe once i get started making my own.

thanks.

I do lip slots on a bandsaw along with angle cuts on poppers/pencils and darters. Also cut the square ends off the blank once I'm done turning. I do the pikie face and surfster top on a belt sander. There is always something else to buy  :D

Ditto what Jigman said. But I use my stationary belt sander to make the cut for pencil top and surfster slope.
