Dog Days of Summer are Nearing

Mr. Sandman brought up a point in another thread about changing tactics for the summer for fishing. I guess my question would be what kind of changes do you guys make for the upcoming summer.

I've seen reference to "it's about time to start throwing needles". are there any other strategies you guys like to employ? Is it time to put away the rubber and start throwing the metal. Is it eeling time? Just looking for some general FYI and opinions.

I started throwing eels a couple of weeks ago and am probably going to continue but just looking how everybody else likes to mix it up in the summer.

From the boat, I'll be live lining porgies in the middle of the day. Eels at night or bunker if I can find them

Black mambos, and if you are fishing off of the beach I wouldn't even waste my time fishing when there is any light. The later and cooler the better.
