Bedliner or Spray On?
 

Any of you have a spray on liner for your trucks? Which one? Happy with it? How much $$ ?

spray on ,,no ands buts about it,,,I've seen them put it on gill brackets.....once an done..it runs about 300.00 up here for an 8' bed.....line-x brand. u can beat the crap out of it and it just smiles back at you.

linex hands down.
be liner will trap moisture sand salt etc. between it and the bed, no matter how good it fits.

yeah I have a bed liner and besides trapping moisture, it also wiggles a bit, which over time will wear away at the paint, allowing rust to settle in.

go for the spray-

Go for the spray on. An option to consider too is; have it sprayed over the bed rails. It is available in a wide array of colors.

We started selling the spray on where I work. Don't know how much yet but the product is impressive. The manufacturer sent color samples 1/4inch thick. I'm a destructive SOB and I couldn't tear it!

John, spray on is the way to go. Plastic liners will just wear the paint off the bed.

I am still driving my 1991 Dodge Dakota. Had a Rhinocoat put down in early '93. Lifetime warranty for original owner. In fact I had it repaired free of charge for they didn't prep the job as good as they do now. Can't beat that. Cost me $325 then for an 8' bed.

I like it because it is slightly soft, so if you put your fish boxes in back they don't slide around when you take a corner.

Someday when I get a new truck I would do it again. And maybe slide them an extra $50 to add even a little more to the bottom.

Comes in lots of colors too. Mine is just black.

John Go with the spary on. Just got my truck done what sold me was I truck I saw at the Mall. Spray on stuff had been on there close to ten years it still looked pretty good, Probally the best thing about the truck was the bed. This truck had been rode hard and put away wet but the spary bed coating still looked pretty good to me. ThomT

john, one of my best friends owns a rhino liner shop. i'm sure he can cut you a deal. send me a pm..

when i had my Dakota, i bought a "home kit" from Pep Boys. you sand the bed, clean it down, paint the stuff on, and let it dry for a day. it worked awesome and only cost $100 for a 6' bed. all the supplies are included.

I have over the rails Speedliner. I wouldnt buy a truck without putting the spray-in bedliner on it. Awesome product

I just pulled the bedliner out of my 2003 Ram and am going with spray on. The bedliner trapped so much sand and moisture it was driving me crazy!

Is the spray on abrasive?
If you slide something in will it scratch?

maybe they can spray my entire truck and I won't have to compond out scratches from branches.:)

spray on liner works, just adds a lot more weight then a plastic one.

Probably no more then a bedliner. It will though keep things from sliding around which IMO is a plus! ;)

I went with the Line-X brand and would do it again in a heartbeat! Excellent stuff! :D

If you try to slide something on it , I think you'll get a hernia. It's not like bedliner material at all. Stuff tends to stay, put unless you get extreme .

Got a line-x quote from an outfit in southeastern mass for $400. Does this seem high?

Wow..I knew someone would try that...it just makes sense..."Brush scratches are a thing of the past." This is my biggest grip with paint. I go thru brush and it scratches the hell out of the finish. I wish the factory offered something like that. Paint the inside and outside when it is new...would last forever.

Liner.

Linex or Rhino is the only way to go. I actually liked Linex but the local dealer was never at his shop. I went with Rhino and love the stuff. It's anti-skid so things you put in the bed tend to stay where you put them. You may be able to hurt it but I haven't.
It makes sense that water can get under a liner but not the spray on. I just don't see a downside other than price which is a little more than a plastic liner. On the other hand I'm guessing resale might cover the cost gap.
