is it just me ?

or are there less razorlips around this year. I fish around narargansett mostly and i have only run into about 3 this entire year.

I'm not complaining, and the less bloofish that are around means theres more food for the bass.

anyone else notice this??

I know they really show up around september, but in years past i've caught alot more by this time..

maybe they will eat the needles I sent You:D

i also do a lot fishing in narragansett bay and have that there a lot less bloos than a few years ago. my dad used to say there were 6 yr. cycles. poor fishing to great fishing. i think that it has a lot to do witrh the decline of pogies that make it into the bay. if i'm not mistakin the pogies spawn in the bay so what does that say about their future here? i don't like them around when striper fishing( duhh ), but in august i like them.

I got into a big school of them this morning. I hate it when you are using soft plastics and they tear them up, switched to a wood popper after I knew there were a bunch of them.

There were plenty of them last week over the bridge on the Cape:D

Eben,
I have caught fewer razor lips too this year , maybe Bassmaster could send me some needles too.:biglaugh:

Still early for blues....But I have not seen many either.
Is now the time when they go off to spawn? I think it is.
As far as pogies go - we had a ton of them last year - too bad they had those fish kills in Narragansett Bay. My spies tell me that the big pogies are in pretty solid in Joisey - keep your fingers crossed that they come up here.

I've been seeing bluefish every time I fish and that's three times a week.

E,
they are around our area, had a few eels cigar butted, but not in large, ravenous packs yet, at least from what I've seen...
