I use them on occasion as well. According to the Marine Fisheries website there are no restrictions.......at all.

The EP's can't do a thing, unless you are fishing commercial. There is no size limit for pollock.

In short, There are just too many regulations for EP to keep up with. If you were to ask 10 EP the same questions you'll probably get 6 differing answers.

Print out a copy of the regs and keep it on the boat so when the EP says you can't, you can show then that there is NO recreational limit on Pollack and you can do it. Where does the EP get there info?

Now, if you are Comm bassing with Pollack. There may be a fine line there. Some would say if the boat is Comm fishing then the pollack are under 19" regs. But you are not selling the pollack which is the definition of Commercial is the act of selling?

IMO pollack are fair game to use.

This info was comunicated to me last year on a commercial day when I had pollock on board. The EP was cool about it, but said next time there would be a problem.
