bobber fishing

Back to basics today with my nephew. Went to the salt pond and used to kayak to get to some sand bars. I fly fished and I set up my nephew 8 years old with a spinning rod, bobber and sandworms. Said cast to the deeper water and let the bobber drift with the outgoing tide. 28 Stripers later the day was history. mostly schoolies but a few small keepers around ten pounds made his day. My nephew has only ever fished freshwater so these fish were giants to him. Nice summer day.
